3SSB GIRLS BASKETBALL CIRCUIT: SESSION I
By LaQuita Thompson
Bryan, TX – Session 1 of the NCAA live period tipped off this past weekend in Bryan, Texas for the Adidas girls’ circuit, giving college coaches their first in-person look at the nation’s top high school prospects. Several established stars shined as expected, like five-star PG Hailee Swain from Atlanta, who displayed her elite athleticism and scoring ability that has her ranked among the top 25 players in the 2025 class. But the opening weekend also allowed some rising young talents to burst onto the scene. Ninth grader Kara Nixon from Martins Mill Texas (Texas Lonestar) immediately backed up her reputation as one of the best 2027 prospects in the country, flashing advanced skills and court vision well beyond her years. Other young players also opened eyes with the running pick-and-rolls and knocking down perimeter shots. The first live recruiting period often produces surprise breakout stars, and this weekend’s action in Texas suggests several intriguing new prospects have emerged for college coaches to track.
